Summit partners with Explore & More to offer “Au-some Evenings”
The Summit Center has announced its support of Western New York’s new Explore & More children’s museum in Buffalo with a sponsorship of “au-some evenings,” a monthly event for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families.
These special evenings offer families of children with autism and sensory processing disorder the opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment. Families will have access to the museum space and play zones as well as the café. Featured activities will include a music center, therapy dog visits, art projects and gross motor activities. The museum will offer “Social Stories” to help parents prepare their child for their visit and offer quiet spaces to take a break.
The first Au-some Evening is planned for Friday, June 21. To reserve your spot, please email accessibility@exploreandmore.org. Future dates are July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, and December 13.
The new museum is located at 130 Main St., Buffalo, at Canalside. For more information, please visit their website at www.exploreandmore.org
