Community Habilitation
If your child needs a little extra help managing some behavioral or social concerns that prevent them and your family from going out in the community to eat, shop, or play, The Summit Center can help.
Our Community Habilitation program provides training for independence and daily living skills for individuals with developmental disabilities. A provider will work with your child regularly to develop a plan to help the individual acquire the desired skills, whether at home or in the community. Specific goals or skills some may need help with include managing money, increasing positive social skills, teaching safety, and more.
Eligibility
Here's how to determine your eligibility:
- Must be eligible under the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)
- Additional behavior eligibility criteria apply
